Sited this woodpecker at my feeder  for the first time.

Hairy woodpecker

I am always happy when I get a new visitor to my feeders. This is the first time I have had a hairy woodpecker come. She looks almost like a downy woodpecker(I posted a picture a few days ago), but she is larger. A downy is about 6.5 inches long and a hairy woodpecker is about 9inches. You can see how big she is in the second picture beside the dove. Also her bill is larger.

frosty morning

Did you see the sunrise this morning about 7:30. It was only like this for a few minutes. If you didn't see it, here it is.

I took this picture out at my birdfeeder. I was able to get within about 3 feet and of course my shutter going off made him move. He did not go too far though as it's pretty cold out and he will be back for more seeds.
